The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities.
To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $220 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
Reporting to the Associate Secretary-Treasurer, the Manager, Accounting manages the accounting operations function including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and balance sheet account reconciliations.
The Manager, Accounting ensures that financial transactions and accounting structures comply with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as District and Ministry policies and guidelines, and oversees internal audit functions.
The Manager, Accounting will be a demonstrated leader with strong communication skills and the ability to create a positive team environment.
