A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and non-clinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users.

Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics.

Additional programs that also support patient care and information, include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record.

eHealth is also responsible for the administration of various pieces of legislation to manage the registration of/changes to all vital event records (e.g. birth, marriage, death, etc.), registration of legal name changes, registration of adoptions, and for maintaining the provincial health registry for health services eligibility and distribution of health services cards.


The eHealth teams engage directly with health system partners and other stakeholders both provincially and federally to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively.


About the Role:


Reporting to the Director of IT Operations South, the Manager of System Operations will provide leadership to a team of professionals and technical staff delivering and maintaining facility based servers, providing and maintaining support of various integration services and technologies along with advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution for over 44,000 users in the health sector.

The position ensures services are provided at a level consistent with service delivery targets and performance standards through the ability to adjust priorities and resource allocations as needed and through close collaboration with health sector partners.


Knowledge and Education:


  • You must be a strong leader of people;
  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, other related equivalent, or related professional designation and certifications from an accredited institution;
  • Relevant leadership experience in a technology oriented function;
  • Strong people management and leadership skills to contribute to the technology division goals and objectives in supporting the Saskatchewan health system;
  • Ability to own and drive new and challenging processes and change across the organization and clients;
  • Strong project management skills which include experience in organizing, planning, and executing largescale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors while maintaining a budget focus;
  • Customer focused approach and good analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Strong written and presentational skills; ability to clearly communicate; complex messages to a variety of audiences including senior management;
  • Influencing and negotiating: Has the confidence and political savvy to influence and challenge at senior levels;
  • Flexibility to shift work hours as required to manage teams to enable 24x7x365 support of mission critical infrastructure;
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, managers, suppliers and stakeholders. Understands the importance of developing effective partnership relationships with key suppliers;
  • Capable of training, supervising and managing staff;
  • Ability to monitor processes, identify gaps, document and implement process improvements;
  • Highly selfmotivated and directed;
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills; and
  • Understanding of concepts related to virtual and physical desktop infrastructure, mobile device management, and underlying support systems.
