A Brief Overview
Reporting directly to the Manager, Corporate Relations in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, the Industry Liaison Associate facilitates and coordinates new and expanded targeted industry and employment opportunities to support career-related activities for engineering students.
The incumbent identifies prospective new connections and supports existing industry partners by developing networking mechanisms and liaison events for students.
These may include industry panels, site tours, informal meetings, workshops, networking events, and mentorship opportunities.The incumbent will coordinate with internal departments, Career Services, and other Faculty collaborators, to support employer events, create job postings, and manage the recruitment process.
As a link between interested faculty members and industry contacts, this role will assist in identifying and promoting in-class opportunities.
The Industry Liaison Associate will support the mandate of the Corporate Relations team while providing superior service to corporate partners, student groups, staff, faculty, and Queen's departments.
This position acts as a point of contact for internship and professional experience programs, and facilitates connections between students, alumni, and potential employers.
This position maintains regular communication with students and collaborates with employers and other departments and/or units on job opportunities and/or internships.
This position guides employers through the employment partnership hiring process including job postings, company information sessions, interviewing, and tracking offers and acceptances.
This position also coordinates and implements events including scheduling, promotion, recruitment, and logistics.The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work evenings and weekends.
Job Description:
What you will do
Acts as a point of contact for internship and professional experience programs, and facilitates connections between students, alumni, and potential employers.
Maintains regular communication with students and collaborates with employers and other departments and/or units on job opportunities and/or internships.
Guides employers through the employment partnership hiring process including job postings, company information sessions, interviewing, and tracking offers and acceptances.
Identifies opportunities to improve program efficiency and new partnerships.
Develops and implements guidelines, procedures, and processes for existing programs.
Designs, plans, and coordinates professional experience workshops and events.
Provides customized job search and career advice to students including career exploration, educating students about internship search, and providing feedback on cover letters, resume, and practice interviews.
Designs and delivers student training supports for internships in other units on request, such as workshops and internship manuals.
Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit. Required Education
Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent. Required Experience
More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience. Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Knowledge and Requirements

Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
