The Louis Riel, River-East Transcona and Winnipeg School Divisions are working in partnership with the Community Education Development Association (CEDA) and the Equity Matters Coalition to develop and implement a 3-year professional learning program for school leaders, educators and support staff within these school districts regarding issues of anti-racism, de-colonization and anti-oppression.

Communities of practice will be formed to support and sustain the knowledge and skills that are developed from this professional learning training program.

The promising practices that are identified in this 3-year initiative will be used to inform the scaling up of anti-racist education professional learning programs in other schools and school divisions in our province.


Under the direction of the Anti-Racist Education Professional Learning Initiative Coordinating Committee, (which consists of representatives from the Louis Riel, River-East Transcona and Winnipeg School Divisions, CEDA and Equity Matters) the Coordinator will provide support for the development and delivery of training initiatives that assist the Coordinating Committee to implement the established Anti-Racist Education Professional Learning Initiative workplan.


Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Support the Coordinating Committee to implement the activities identified in the professional learning initiative workplan.
  • Develop effective working relationships with the school leaders, educators and school support staff involved in the professional learning program.
  • Develop effective working relationships with the communitybased organizations supporting the professional learning program.
  • Support the development of student and parent voice in the design, implementation and evaluation of professional learning program.

Program Planning and Management

  • Identify, secure and support personnel and resources to implement professional learning training workshops/sessions.
  • Provide logistics support for communities of practice networking.
  • Monitor the delivery of professional learning program and services to strengthen continuous improvement.
  • Establish and implement effective program reporting and information systems, including an annual progress report of program activities and impact.
  • Support the annual program/workplan development and program evaluation planning process of the Coordinating Committee.
  • Provide required administrative and technical assistance to support the program evaluator(s) to implement the program evaluation of professional learning training program.

Administrative Support

  • Support the Coordinating Committee by preparing meeting agenda, minutes and supporting materials for committee meetings.
  • Provide scheduling and technical support for online meetings of the professional learning program.
  • Provide scheduling, facility booking and meeting support for inperson meetings of the professional learning program.
  • Manage and provide regular reports on program budget.

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary degree in Education, or related field study, or equivalent combination of education and related work and community experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience leading and facilitating antiracism/decolonization/antioppression initiatives within a public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of education equitybased professional learning best and leading practices.
  • Ability to engage meaningfully with community groups to promote equitybased professional learning.
  • Demonstrated success in leading others through transformational change that requires facilitative and relational leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate others and build trust through an open, respectful and collegial approach.
  • Proven experience in program development.
  • Excellent planning, administrative, organizational, project management and budget management skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and provide leadership to teams and working committees, achieving goals using consultative and collegial processes.
  • Thrives in collaborative partnership and engagement with a diversity of stakeholders and communities.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Superior interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking and communication skills.
Proficient with computerized systems. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, Zoom.


Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract


Salary:
$100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
