The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Human Resources & Safety Coordinator to fill a maternity leave position and join our team In this role, you will support areas such as recruiting, performance management, occupational health & safety programs, and WCB.

The Team

The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator will require to complete the following but not limited to:

Complete full cycle recruiting function for hourly and salaried staff positions
Lead and support the Health and Safety program
Create, amend, and enforce company policies
Support employee development and improvement through training, communication, and performance management
Respond to all employee relations issues
Complete all administration duties for the HR department
Act as the lead for payroll and benefits administration
As well as other duties as assigned to assist with team requirements

This position is 50% Human Resources and 50% safety-related.

Qualifications

Completion of Postsecondary education in a relevant Human Resources related field
13 years of Human Resources and Safety experience is preferred
Experience with the construction/electrician trade is considered an asset
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
A strong understanding of current human resources legislation
Strong attention to detail
Ability to keep information very confidential.
A very high level of integrity
Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
Proficiency with Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other database systems
