The Opportunity


We are actively seeking a Human Resources & Safety Coordinator to fill a maternity leave position and join our team In this role, you will support areas such as recruiting, performance management, occupational health & safety programs, and WCB.

The Team

The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager.


Responsibilities
The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator will require to complete the following but not limited to:

  • Complete full cycle recruiting function for hourly and salaried staff positions
  • Lead and support the Health and Safety program
  • Create, amend, and enforce company policies
  • Support employee development and improvement through training, communication, and performance management
  • Respond to all employee relations issues
  • Complete all administration duties for the HR department
  • Act as the lead for payroll and benefits administration
  • As well as other duties as assigned to assist with team requirements
This position is 50% Human Resources and 50% safety-related.


Qualifications

  • Completion of Postsecondary education in a relevant Human Resources related field
  • 13 years of Human Resources and Safety experience is preferred
  • Experience with the construction/electrician trade is considered an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A strong understanding of current human resources legislation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to keep information very confidential.
  • A very high level of integrity
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
  • Proficiency with Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other database systems
