Manager, Community & Health Promotion Programs

(Contract Full-time, 35 hours/week)

(Starting April 1, March 31, 2024)

(Non-Bargaining unit member)


This position is responsible for managing a team of intensive in-home supports community youth workers and peer support leaders, ensuring effective service delivery, establishing a strong YouthLink presence, and developing partnerships in the community.

This position is also responsible for the implementation of health promotional programs, program planning, development, evaluation, and data collection.

  • Working with colleagues on the management team on the daytoday operations of the community and outreach programs.
  • Maintaining deep expertise on programming and excellence.

  • Ensure excellence in data collection and reporting.
  • Leadership characteristics which embraces reflective learning and development to enhance all traits of leader character.

Works collaboratively with ABR Committee and Director of Anti-Racism, Equity, Inclusion and Community to embed best practices into all operational goals and processes.

What You Bring

Education:


  • Degree/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Specialized training in mental health and harm reduction issues and intervention, adolescent development.
  • Training in the following areas is an asset: clinical counselling models such as CBT, Narrative, Solution-Focused, evidencebased practices, outcome informed approaches, Signs of Safety Child Welfare Training, trauma assessment, Health Promotions, diversity and antioppression, Anti-Black Racism data collection and analysis.
  • Coursework that demonstrates your desire for continual learning in Equity, Diversity and Belonging practices.

Experience:


  • Five (5) years' experience working with youth, marginalized and diverse populations.
  • Two (2) years' management/leadership experience preferably in a nonprofit unionized environment
  • Strong project management and clinical supervision skills.
  • Ability to develop proposals.
  • Understanding of the economic, political and social factors black and racialized youth and their community
  • Strong knowledge of one or more of the following systems: child welfare or protection laws; mental health and youth justice systems and youth legislation
  • Experience in design, implementation and evaluation of programs that address systems change and youth complex needs
  • Strong understanding of harm reduction principles and strategies to support youth
  • Demonstrated experience in health programming, case management; program planning, development and evaluation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skill in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practices, and specifically using an Anti-Black Racism lens.
  • Broad knowledge of theories, principles and practices of systems and health promotional programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak/write French or another language is an asset.
