YOUR ROLE
Under the direction of the _President_ and with customer service and revenue generation a priority,_ Business Development _is accountable to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the sales and marketing activities for the Warehouse.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute the sales and marketing plan for the division
Look after end-to-end process of finding the right customers, with the right solution for their logistics and container needs, at the right price point.
Armed with an exceptional understanding of the market and logistics industry, market and sell a total logistics package, including container, transportation and any specialized services.
Must understand and negotiate a profitable pricing structure and service-level agreement that will increase the company's 'share of wallet' in the container, freight and logistics industry.
Manage operational activities associated with sales and marketing
Act as prime liaison between the client and the company for both new and existing accounts. Understand and interpret client needs and be able to communicate to all stakeholders.
A strong understanding of the industry is required to monitor key performance indicators, translate clients' requirements, draft and interpret policy and procedures, negotiate pricing agreements and manage special projects.
Provide and maintain good customer service and solve problems
TASKS & DUTIES
Sales & Support
- Develops and executes sales strategies and business plans to ensure realization of corporate vision while maximizing profits and growth opportunities;
- Develop, implement and evaluate sales and marketing policies, procedures and strategies;
- Develop pricing strategies and negotiate price and service levels with customers;
- Lead the initiation and negotiation of contractual agreements with customers to manage product storage and distribution;
- Liaise between the company and the client to resolve customer complaints;
- Initiates client relationships;
- Determines client needs and quality standards;
- Assists with negotiations;
- Manages client expectations.
Relationship Management
- Clients initiates relationship, ensures effective hand off, follows up periodically to keep contact;
- Operations communicates client information, assists with startup planning, ensures business mix and timing fit;
- Rate Reviews negotiated before expiry date.
- Represent and promote the company at promotional events, such as trade shows and association meetings;
- Review and assist customers with depot audits;
- Review and manage labor and materials rates;
- Review billing and invoicing;
- Continuously monitor effectiveness of the operations strategies aimed at efficiency, thereby reducing operating costs;
- Develop and maintain sales and marketing materials;
- Act as the 'face' of the company to existing and potential customers, the public, government and other external sources within the industry;
- Performs other related work as required.
Travel requirements
SKILLS -SET
- Bilingual (French & English) ;
- Energetic selfstarter ;
- University degree in business administration and/or marketing or in a discipline related to logistics management;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation logistics sales and marketing;
- Proven track record in sales and marketing in the transport industry;
