Nelson River Construction (NRC) is currently hiring a full time Construction Project Manager
for our Underground Division.
NRC is a leading heavy construction contractor in Winnipeg, MB, operating inter-provincially with expertise in many areas of heavy construction including: Concrete paving, Asphalt paving, Aggregate processing and Underground services.

The Position:
The Construction Project Manager will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented person who has a strong work ethics, works well in a team environment, and can perform responsibly under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of construction projects, from start to finish
- Review specifications and drawings to confirm scope of work including scheduling and project planning requirements
- Solicit and review supplier and subcontractor quotes, proposals and other related documentation
- Review, analyze and check bid documents for completeness and prepare estimates accordingly
- Collaborate with Superintendents and Division Managers throughout bid preparations
- Perform site visits and take field measurements as required for quotations and change control
- Manage subcontractor and supplier RFQ's during the procurement
- Build and manage relationships with new and existing suppliers and subcontractors
- Engage in project meetings, pretender meetings and preaward meetings as and when required
- Verify progress billings from and to owner, from and to subcontractors, and manage progress
- Manage and direct projects on a daily basis including out of town stays whenever required
- Identify project risks, problems and issues as early as possible; ensuring mitigative actions are in place to limit impact, and elevate to senior management as appropriate relative to severity
- Plan, organize, manage and monitor project costs, assisting with estimated to completion costs
- Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on changes and adjustments to contracts
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive Civil, Municipal, or Mechanical related experience
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and organizational skills
- Ability to identify and manage opportunities and risks on projects
- Ability to monitor and forecast project resources and staffing requirements
- Strong problemsolving skills, attentive to details, thorough and accurate in preparing estimates
- Deadline driven with strong ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment
- Possess strong mathematical and computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Bid2Win, and/or equivalent programs
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities, with proven ability to take initiative and leadership
- Valid Class 5 License
