- Drive consistency in process, grow the Company's estimating and benchmarking capabilities, and perform analysis and reporting across the organization
- Support the Manager, Project Services to deliver daily and monthly Project Controls deliverables
- Prepares Basis of Estimate reports
- Evolve the estimating program and produce estimates based on collected contractual data, financial requirements and the scope of work and services
- Organize estimates to the prescribed code of accounts/work breakdown structures format
- Prepare evaluations for allowance items, escalation and contingency
- Interface with project management, engineering, construction and procurement departments
- Perform cost control including monthly accruals, forecasting, change management, progress measurement, variance analysis, scenario analysis and cost reporting
- Act as resident expert across functional estimating and benchmarking efforts
- Work with other internal departments to enable project controls related functions to effectively align across the Company
- Maintain and enhance corporate standard work breakdown structure for estimating
- Work with other cost analysis and accounting groups to align with budget, forecasting, and reporting policies, processes, and practices
- Maintain and continue to enhance Company's cost benchmarking data to support estimate quality
- Prepare and present financial business review reports and updates for leaders
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting and analysis of financial data, budget-related tools and practices
- Post-Secondary Education in a related field
- 10 years of related experience
- Expert knowledge of estimating, benchmarking and cost control with the ability to perform other Project Controls functions including: planning/scheduling, change management, and earned value management (EVM)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
- Strong Leadership competencies to successfully implement strategies
- Experience with Oil & Gas pipeline and energy construction projects and understanding of the construction lifecycle
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SAP, PIMS, Primavera P6, MS Project

The Opportunity
Our South Bow – Projects Group is currently looking to add a Senior Project Controller with a specialist level of proficiency in estimating methods, benchmarking, cost control and project reporting to the Project Services team, based in Calgary, AB.
Reporting to the Manager, Project Services (Liquids) this position will support the South Bow Project Services team with estimating, benchmarking, cost management and reporting across the project portfolio. Additional duties may include scheduling, progress measurement and supporting the Manager with the implementation of new or enhanced project controls processes, procedures and templates as required.
