Here at Island Crisis Care Society, as a Casual Support Worker, you have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our Supportive Housing Programs while providing flexible and rewarding employment within the Nanaimo and Parksville communities.

We are seeking exceptional individuals whose qualifications and attributes align with the demands of this role.

The Casual Support Worker will partner with our Supportive Housing Programs Managers supporting our Supportive Housing Programs throughout Nanaimo and Parksville.

(This role may also offers the opportuity to be trained in our Assisted Living Programs throughout Nanaimo and Parksville)-
Teamwork and Initiative: Our organization values individuals who can work with a team to ensure client needs are being met.

You should be self-driven, demonstrating the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities collaboratively while contributing to the overall success of our supportive housing programs.

Qualifications:

Education:

A diploma in a related human/social service field

Certifications:

Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR
Valid Naloxone Certificate
Valid Food Safe Certificate
Valid WHMIS Certificate
Non-Violent Crisis Prevention

Experience:

Oneyear recent related experience (Or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training)

Please note:
For the Casual Support Worker position, the minimum availability required is 10 shifts per month including:

Ability to work 2 weekends each month
Ability to work 5 overnight shifts each month
Ability work on Christmas Day or New Year's Day
