Accountabilities

  • Partner with customerfacing teams and functions across Canadian Banking Contact Centre network to support with providing expert advice, analysis, and strategies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to other communications teams across Global Contact Centres and other areas of the Bank.
  • Assist with weekly communications reports/updates and proactively identify and support communications and change management potential issues.
  • Support broader corporate communications initiatives that impact CBCC operation.
  • Assist in the development and execution of CBCC communications strategies and tactics, including leadership messages positioning and key message development and coordination with key partners to advance strategic priorities and drive engagement.
  • Supports the development and execution of EE programs and events by:
a) Contributing to the overall EE strategy by generating ideas and providing insight specific to the campus to ensure a consistent employee experience across GO campuses

b)

Facilitating execution of EE programs specific to the campuses including campus events such as:
Lunch and Learn Sessions, Employee Engagement activities, Employee Training and Onboarding activities

c) Supporting the Senior Manager, EE to evaluate the effectiveness of EE activities (e.g., learning materials, training sessions, delivery strategies) by collecting data to examine EE metrics and continuously improve techniques, delivery, outcomes and strengthen EE programming

d) Assisting with the identification, development, implementation, and maintenance of communications platforms with specific focus on channels that are fundamental to and drive Employee Engagement within GO campuses such as Scotiabank Live, Workplace and Campus TV.

e) Providing guidance and active governance to Campus Action Teams - Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion and Community to drive idea generation and assist in program implementation, while ensuring alignment to overall EE strategy

f) Assisting with the development of content for wellness activities and associated relationship management of vendors (e.g. Good Life)

g) Coordinating the set up and take down of the physical space assigned to each event

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen partner relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge by:
a) Partnering with the GO Communications team to assist in executing corporate events and supporting corporate initiatives

b) Providing support for campus and business line activities and events, campus tours, etc.

c) Supporting budget maintenance and monitoring including reconciliation, invoices, monthly and annual returns

d) Participating in the orientation of new hires

e) Assisting Campus Operations in the administrative support of the units in the campus as required - Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-today activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Scotiabank Code of Conduct.

Requirements:


  • 2+ years of experience in Communications, preferably in a financial services environment.
  • Experience in supporting/ executing Communications and Change Management strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to plan and create effective print and online content.
  • Excellent ability to take complex ideas and translate them into digestible key messages that resonate with audience.
  • Strong interest in communicating and supporting strategy through effective communication and employee engagement tactics.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with excellent attention to detail, and highlevel accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects.
  • Flexible and willing to take on new challenges as they present themselves.
  • Strong ability to create enthusiasm and foster a team environment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign is an asset.
