$53,203 - $63,338/annum

  • Qualifications
  • Postsecondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related discipline and/or an acceptable
combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Sound knowledge of associated collective agreement provisions, the Employment Standards Act, and the Education Act and
associated regulations.

  • Experience in the interpretation and administration of collective agreements is an asset.
  • Experience in diversity hiring and knowledge of recruitment strategies with an equity, diversity and inclusion focus would be an
asset.

  • Possess experience in staffing and recruitment of employees, including appropriate posting methods, interview techniques,
and recruitment strategies.

  • Possesses a demonstrated ability to use various forms of technology and associated software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel,
and has previous experience using an integrated Human Resources/Payroll computer system and an applicant tracking system.

  • Ability to follow established Board policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use tact, discretion and maintain information in the strictest of confidence.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Human Resources, the Staffing and Recruitment Officer is responsible for full
- cycle recruitment for internal and external staff for various employee groups across the organization. This role is responsible

for a range of services related to staffing operations including advising on collective agreement provisions, Board policy and

procedures, and relevant legislation as it pertains to staffing and recruitment in a multi-unionized environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

reate job postings, post and distribute them in accordance with Board policies and procedures, Collective Agreements

and any other legislative requirements.

ontact potential applicants and organize interviews as required, including the preparation of interview materials.

oordinate the interview process, including but not limited to booking rooms, sending virtual links, preparing and

distributing questions and/or testing materials, organizing interview panels.

omplete reference checks for employees as required.

  • Notify applicants of the results of the selection process and prepare job offers and new employee packages.
  • Initiate and develop relationships with third party organizations, such as Universities, Colleges, and local Employment
Agencies to foster relationships and organize and attend career fairs, open houses, or networking events on behalf of the

organization occasionally outside of standard work hours.

  • Advise Principals, managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees and the public regarding recruitment and selection processes.
  • Prepare forms, correspondence and documents related to staffing processes and collective agreement administration, and
general human resources administration.

  • Provide adhoc support in other key HR areas that may be unplanned or transient in nature, but in line with the above
duties and responsibilities.
