Job Summary

Reporting directly to Sean Peterson, CEO & President, the Class 1 Driver is responsible to transport

materials and goods to various locations within Fort McMurray and transporting to the Edmonton/ Calgary areas.

The incumbent will inspect their vehicles for mechanical issues relating to safe operation and may perform basic repair work.

The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of

CILTD, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.

This full-time hourly position is based on forty (40) hours weekly. Additional hours may be

required in order to meet Company and/or Client requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for operating tandem with quad, tandem with pup, water truck, flat deck, winch

truck with lowboy or b train:

  • Responsible for operating other relative equipment, loader, skid steer, forklift, to load and unload materials, snow, etc.
  • Responsible for moving freight and equipment to and from Edmonton & Calgary;
  • Responsible for hauling aggregates and snow locally;
  • Perform daily pretrip and posttrip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain uptodate Driver Log throughout the duration of each shift;
  • Conduct minor maintenance tasks on commercial vehicles as needed;
  • Observe and comply with rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and the
Highway Traffic Act;

  • Effective communication with staff and customers;
  • Promoting company image through safe driving and excellent customer service; and,
  • Other relatable duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma or General Educational Diploma 'GED' equivalency is required;
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience within a Class 1 Driver role is required;
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience 18 speed manual transmission is required;
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience with equipment operation is required;
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License, along with a clean driver's abstract is required; and,
  • Must have ability to proficiently read, speak and write in English and excellent communication
