The Pre-Clinical Research Department at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is currently recruiting for a casual Research Assistant 2.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, all aspects of animal care, health monitoring and husbandry.

Various duties include the provision of food, water and clean cages to animals, daily health and room checks, record keeping and general cleaning.

Additional duties include obtaining samples for animal health and environmental monitoring tests, administering treatments to animals as requested by the Veterinarian and assisting researchers with various experimental procedures.

Some assistance with cage wash duties may be required at times as well as some equipment maintenance duties.

The Research Assistant 2 will work with a positive, respectful attitude as a team member to ensure the animals are healthy and happy and that researchers have a safe, pleasant, well-run facility in which to conduct experiments.

Qualifications:


Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Salary Range:
$ $29.60 per hour
