STATUS:
Temporary full-time position (35 hours/week), non-unionized
Replacement of maternity leave/parental leave for an approximate duration of one year


HIRING LOCATION:
Telework (in Québec)


IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:
Assistant to the Director of Human Resources


STARTING DATE:
As soon as possible


SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the Assistant to the Director of Human Resources and under the supervision of the Senior Human Resources Advisor, the person assists the Human Resources team in all administrative and operational tasks.


More specifically:


Will assist in the organization and animation of the welcome day for new employees; will develop partnerships with our different actors in Kuujjuaq in order to set up job fairs for the Inuit clientele and to promote the jobs as well as the working conditions of the UTHC.

Assist in the coordination of the internship program. Will write and update work policies and procedures or submit proposals for improvement. Provide advice and support to managers on all matters involving HR expertise, including labour relations. Contribute to the design and development of tools to improve HR administrative processes.


Administrative component:

  • Writes and reviews job descriptions ;
  • Conducts internal job postings and ensures compliance;
  • Conducts internal recruitment interviews with managers ;
  • Acts in an advisory and support role to managers ;
  • Advises managers on the best HR practises to adopt in various contexts;
  • Makes recommendations to managers on best practices in personnel management, including labour relations;
  • Assists payroll in the preparation and verification process during the production of the payroll ;
  • Performs the opening of employee files ;
  • Follows up on the various types of leave provided for in the collective agreements (maternity, parental, without pay, deferred salary, etc.) ;
  • Performs the coding of employee files ;
  • Follows up on group insurance files ;
  • Answers employees' questions and refers them to the appropriate department if necessary;
  • Performs the filing of employee files ;
  • All other related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resource Management; academic training in a relevant related discipline may be considered;
  • Pertinent experience in personnel management and recruitment;
  • Work experience in a remote area is an asset;
  • Blingualism is essential French and English (spoken and written); Inuktitut is an asset;
  • Sense of responsibility and autonomy; sense of analysis, synthesis, decision;
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and develop good interpersonal relationships;
  • Ability to communicate and advanced user of IT tools;
  • Mastering Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook;
  • Knowledge of Logibec's Espresso GRHpayroll system is an asset;
  • Available to travel to Kuujjuaq in Nunavik occasionally.

CONDITIONS:
Min: 933.10$/week | Max: 1,599.50$/week
