MANAGER OF COMMUNICATIONS AND CULTURE (Permanent, Full-time)

NATURE OF THE POSITION:

The Manager of Communications and Culture develops corporate communications strategies and is responsible for corporate communications and fostering and maintaining relationships with media, Indigenous Nations, and internal and external stakeholders.

The Manager of Communications and Culture reports to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and works closely with the CAO to provide strategic communication advice to elected officials, managers and staff while contributing to maintaining positive community, media, Indigenous and government relations.

The Manager is responsible for proactive issue management and acts as the first point of contact for local media.


The Manager oversees the Indigenous Relations portfolio, the implementation of the Regional Cultural Plan and relationships with eight different Regional District funded cultural organizations.

The Manager supervises assigned employees and monitors the performance of contractors and supply/service contracts to achieve required outcomes.

SALARY:
The salary range for this position is $97,000 to $110, rate) and will be commensurate with years of experience.
