Term - 1 Year Contract


Normal Work Schedule:
Part-time overnight hours per week), 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. Primarily Fridays, Saturdays, Statutory Holidays and additional hours as needed.


Position Summary:


Under the general direction of the Residence Services Supervisor and Manager, and adhering to established policies and procedures to ensure the seamless functioning of the Victoria University Front Desk at Margaret Addison Hall, the Resident Services Attendant will be responsible for a diverse set of duties, including: welcoming students, community members and guests, managing key distribution, maintaining parking operations, performing check-ins/outs.

As well, this position is responsible for performing night auditing duties, which include balancing and preparing auditing reports, balancing the revenue and expense transactions and posting charges to the relevant StarRez accounts.

Additionally, the position is responsible for directing incoming calls appropriately, responding to inquiries, and triaging emergency response calls.
During the summer months, the Residence Services Attendant would assist with the operations of the Hotel and Conference business.

As this role requires interaction with a diverse group of people, particularly young adults, the individual must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and be approachable, courteous, and tactful.

They should be dependable, remain composed during challenging situations while effectively operating with mínimal supervision, and promptly address any concerns or complaints raised by clients.

In a fast-paced, multitasking, and multicultural environment, the individual must utilize independent judgment/decision making utilizing all available resources to solve problems proactively and establish positive relationships with students, community members, and guests while adapting to changes and evolving circumstances.


Qualifications Required:

Education
Community College Diploma/Certificate with some courses in hospitality and accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience
1 year Hotel, Residence Services, Accounting and customer service experience

  • Exceptional communications skills (oral and written)
  • Attentive to details and accuracy
  • Possess excellent organizational abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, specifically acquired through frontline interactions with students and the public
  • Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including: cash sheet preparation and deposits
  • Proficient in MS

Office Programs:
Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong keyboarding ability
  • Experience with access control software, housing software, and Point of Sale machines is an asset
  • Previous experience working a night shift schedule is an asset
