    Role Responsibilities

    • Develop, review, and implement comprehensive security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard information assets.
    • Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and reports to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
    • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, oversee/conduct penetration testing, and risk analyses to identify and address potential threats.
    • Assist in security awareness training and promote a security-first culture throughout the organization.
    • Coordinate incident response activities, including investigation, root cause analysis, remediation, and reporting.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, PIPEDA).
    • Oversee the deployment and configuration of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and SIEM tools.
    • Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and evidence of security controls as needed.
    • Stay current with applicable software and OS patches, emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements, making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
    • Experience with vendor onboarding assessment.
    • Identify and perform semi-annual / annual failover and DR tests.
    • Oversee MDM policy implementation for corporate approved devices such as Windows laptops, iOS and Android.
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff and cross-functional teams.

    Candidate Profile

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in information security, network security, or related discipline, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
    • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance relevant to Canadian contexts.
    • Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners).
    • Experience with incident response and threat analysis.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Compensation

    Base salary range of $110,000-$140,000.

    Total compensation includes salary, variable discretionary bonus, benefits and other perks.
