    Mining Apprenticeship Partnership (MAP) Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprenticeship Employment & Training Opportunity

    Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice (4 Positions)

    Duties: College of the Rockies is accepting applications for Heavy Duty Equipment Technician apprentices for the Mining Apprenticeship Partnership. MAP is collaboratively delivered by College of the Rockies Trades Department at Teck's Elk Valley Operations. Apprentices are sponsored by College of the Rockies and obtain work-based training hours at Teck Elk Valley Operations.

    Qualifications: Candidates must have successfully completed Heavy Mechanical Foundation (or Pre-apprenticeship) training program or Level 1 or Level 2 in a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician apprenticeship program. A secondary school diploma or equivalent is required. Industrial work experience, as well as effective communication and computer skills, are considered assets.

    Applicants with a Red Seal qualification will NOT be considered for the position as the posting applies only to first- and second-year apprentices.

    Salary: $36.40-$42.64 per hour
