    Color Ad Packaging is a Winnipeg based leading producer of quality commercial packaging products. We are focused on providing our customers with world-class flexible packaging solutions that are manufactured in a clean and safe work environment.

    We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Graphics Supervisor.

    The function of the Graphics Supervisor is to act upon and execute all projects in the graphics department, reviews project time lines and ensures time lines are met, reviews all new graphic separation, follow up with employee that the standard operating procedures are being followed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Understand and champion all Graphic protocols and SOPs ensuring adherence.
    Ensures the overall cleanliness and organization of the department.
    Quality, ensures that all quality control testing is being followed.
    Quality / Errors, to be tracked daily and reported weekly (Excel).
    Reviews customer supplied artwork and provides direction of separation to customers and graphic suppliers.
    Reviews graphics color separations of new designs; colors proofs vs customer supplied color targets.
    Manages the ordering of new cylinder bases, printing sleeves and cylinders.
    Enter trial information into Quick base and is the lead for trials being produced in Graphics and in the production plant.
    Enters graphic information for new Customers quotes in Quick Base.
    Review performance of graphic suppliers, includes yearly reviews.
    Implements all Continuous Improvement initiatives in a timely fashion
    Coordinates with other department managers and Customer Service Representatives for job status updates or issues that may affect Color Ad jobs.
    Ensures Managers and supervisors are aware of challenging print designs that are scheduled for that week.
    Ensures production requirements are being met, and if not, what adjustments need to be made.
    Evaluates employees' efficiency on a daily basis. Conducts annual performance appraisals for each employee.
    Recommends appropriate discipline actions when necessary
    Writes Non-Conformance Reports for any defective printing separations, Gravure cylinders /processes and ensures implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
    Ensures that employees are adhering to safety policies and procedures, preform weekly Safety Talks.
    Adheres to all requirements of Color Ad's Food Safety Program. Reports any issues noticed to a member of the Food Safety Team

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    Must have the ability to interact and manage conflict in stressful situations without losing his/her composure
    Should have 3 to 5 years of in a manufacturing environment.
    Must have demonstrated leadership skills, including leading by example and dealing with individuals at all levels in a fair and respectful manner.
    Willingness and ability to make the right decisions for the business and the employees.
    Must understand and value people as the most important organizational asset.
    Knowledge of pre-press, Flexographic and Gravure printing processes and separations.
    Must be able to read specifications, order jackets, production schedules and other relevant documents and be able to understand their requirements.
    Must have a working knowledge and ability to use e-mail, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
