    This is a 2- year temporary position. Preference will be given to candidates located in Okotoks.

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Regional Educational Assistant (EA) works directly with regional learners and instructors to provide educational support related to the programs and courses offered by Regional Stewardship. The primary focus of this role is to assist in creating exceptional educational experiences for regional learners, regardless of their location or the mode of delivery.

    Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

    Supports Instruction

    • Assists regional learners to provide a positive learning experience.
    • Assists regional instructors to create a functional instructional team.
    • Assists regional instructors with classroom support, whether face to face or virtual, related to course and classroom management
    • Supports instructors to ensure learner growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for the language level, subject area, and program classification.

    Provides Resources

    • Assists instructors to identify, select, create, and modify learning resources to meet the needs of learners with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.

    Supports Ongoing Operational Requirements

    • Invigilates exams, following and enforcing exam procedures and regulations.

    Required qualifications:

    • Post-secondary diploma (preference for Educational Assistant and/or Adult Learning).
    • Two years of experience working with adult learners from beginner to advanced levels, and learners with interrupted formal education
    • Ability to interact in a friendly and patient manner with learners with varied cultural backgrounds, ages, gender identities, levels of English language proficiency, and learners who may require academic
    • Fluent in spoken and written English.
    • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
    • Ability to travel.

    If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.
