Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting, the Accounting Services Analyst will be a key member of the global financial reporting team, with a focus on segregated funds financial reporting.

What you will do

  • Prepare semiannual and annual financial statements for our Canadian segregated funds
  • Perform quarterly financial close processes
  • Process daily and monthly journal vouchers
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports for regulators
  • Update reports for new funds, fund remixes, fund manager changes and fund category updates
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with the analysis of accounting policies to ensure segregated fund financial statements comply with IFRS and CLHIA standards
  • Assist the general account financial close and reporting team as needed, including quarterly financial reports for internal management and the Board of Directors.
  • Assist with adhoc requests related to segregated funds

What you will bring

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in Business/Finance, or completion of accounting courses would be considered an asset
  • 35 years of experience in a staff accountant, financial analyst, or reporting role; those with experience in an SAP environment are preferred
  • Strong attention to detail in assessing financial information
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills, with ability to assess and prioritize multiple responsibilities and work with limited supervision
  • Knowledge and efficient use of MS Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively articulate issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to adapt and learn new processes and tasks
  • Experience with financial solutions; experience with Workiva would be considered an asset
