Part Time Midnights 10pm to 6am


Southbridge Care Homes are currently looking to add a caring, passionate, and enthusiastic Retirement Resident Attendant (Part time) to our amazing home family, who can serve our lovely residents, to keep them safe, healthy, and happy.

Reporting to the Executive Director, and as a member of the multidisciplinary team, provide personal care to residents according to each residents care plan.

Provide medication administration to residents according to medication schedule. Provide housekeeping, laundry, cleaning and recreational services to residents as per schedule. Provide meal/dining services to residents according to shift schedule.


Key Job Functions:


  • Responsible to provide compassionate and individualized personal care to residents as outlined in resident's individual care plans and as needed.
  • Responsible for medication administration to residents as per Mar sheet.
  • Responsible for the cleaning of residents' rooms, and facility as indicated on work routines.
  • Responsible for individual laundry services for residents and facility linens.
  • Responsible to facilitate scheduled recreation activities as per activities calendar.
  • Responsible for set up, serving and clean up of tables in the residents' dining room.
  • Respects residents' rights, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, families and visitors.
  • Responsible to monitor report and respond to any concerns, changes in residents' behavior and/or health condition. i.e. resident fall, illness.
  • In the absence of registered staff, responsible to call ambulance or hospital if resident appears to require medical attention beyond what we can provide.
  • Responsible to implement effective safety measures and report any unsafe conditions in the building in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to participate in facility fire drills and follow fire policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Continuous quality Improvement initiatives and completing assigned audits.
  • Responsible to participate in facility education and training opportunities.
  • Carries out all other duties as directed by retirement home manager/executive director or designate.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience working in retirement or long term care an asset
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • Possess compassionate, caring and cheerful attitude necessary to work with seniors
  • Flexible, adaptable, able to work in a busy environment and respond to sometimes unpredictable situations.
  • Provide care to residents with dignity and respect.

Additional Requirements:


  • Annual flu shot
  • Criminal Record Check and annual declaration
  • Successful Reference check
  • Physically capable of doing work that requires standing, lifting, bending, and pushing.
