The Position:


Reporting to the Director of External Operations, the Finishing Site Supervisor is a full-time position working as an integral part of the site management team at our Fergus, Ontario site.

The following is a list of the major responsibilities of the position:


  • Assist the Head Site Superintendent with all aspects of new home construction on site;
  • Assist in the preparation of the project schedule;
  • Assist in the approval of onsite purchase orders and completion forms;
  • Review all upgrades, extras, change orders and colour charts for errors or omissions;
  • Contact, schedule and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and utilities;
  • Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a weekly basis;
  • Raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings;
  • Inform the Construction team and/or Project Managers of any errors, discrepancies or omissions contained within the Consultant's design drawings;
  • Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are enforced including the assembly of a job site safety committee and the chairing of the required job site safety meetings;
  • Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required;
  • Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control;
  • Control and monitor labour, material and equipment expenses and assist in the preparation of the monthly cost forecasting summaries;
  • Prepare production updates with direction from Head Site Superintendent;
  • Coordinate required municipal inspections with the Head Site Superintendent;
  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists; and
- such other duties as the Company may assign to the Employee from time to time (collectively referred to as the "Duties").


Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of Ontario residential construction experience;
  • Extensive understanding of the construction workflow and knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, planning, and reading construction drawings;
  • Commitment to site safety and creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment;
  • Highly organized and detailoriented individual with a dedication to highquality workmanship;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high standard of professionalism and a customer service approach;
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently;
  • Ability to work both independently with mínimal supervision and as an integral part of a team;
  • Proficient with MS Office;
  • Experience with Newstar considered an asset;
