Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Manager, Support Services, the Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, provision and supervision of the daily Nutrition/Housekeeping Services
Operations include:
participating in screening and interviewing of applicants, orientation, training, scheduling, monitoring of work performance, and providing feedback into staff performance appraisals.
The Supervisor is responsible for the monitoring, recording and auditing of quality improvement activities, ensuring the quality and the quantity of work performed is in accordance with established patient nutrition /housekeeping services standards, regulations and policies.
Under the direction of the Manager, Support Services and in accordance with the Clinical Dietitians, the Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the provision of optimal nutrition care to patients and residents.
Experience:
- Two (2) years of food service/housekeeping experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working with Diet office software (CBORD), scheduling (ESP), room booking software (EMS) and SAP software preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Completion of Grade 12 education, Manitoba Standards.
- Successful completion of a formal Food Service Supervisory/Diet Technician program and /or management program from a recognized community college/university or an equivalent combination of related training/education and experience.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
- Food Handling Certificate Level 1.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to express ideas and thoughts clearly in English, both verbally and in written format.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical and mental health to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
