This position may be based at any of our offices (Cornwall(ON), St-Catharines(ON), Brossard(QC) or St -Lambert(QC)) in order to meet with your clients. Also, the Operations Analyst team members serve an English-speaking and French-speaking clientele so the person chosen will preferably be bilingual.
The St.

Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation is a not-for-profit corporation responsible for the safe and efficient movement of marine traffic through the Canadian Seaway.

The Corporation plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the waterway remains a safe and well-managed system to enable ships to transit between Montreal and Lake Erie, through bridges and 13 locks.


Role:


  • The Operations Analyst plans, performs studies and a variety of work assignments directed towards the achievement of a safe, effective and efficient operation of structures and traffic control facilities

Responsibilities:


  • Carry out studies in the areas of structure and traffic control operations.
  • Identify user requirements for new operational systems, test and support new systems, develop training material and analyze performance.
  • Evaluate, develop and implement operating methods and techniques.
  • Plan and carry out internal ISO audits.
  • Prepare and issue various reports during the opening and closing of navigation periods.
  • Provide primary support for the Traffic Management System and users to ensure data integrity.
  • Liaise with marine, engineering and technical services, as well as other operational staff within the department, the Regions and outside agencies.

Experience and knowledge:


  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in a similar position in a marine transportation or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in performing operation analysis, and providing recommendations and user support.
  • Experience with database manipulation for the preparation of various reports.
  • Knowledge of applicable procedures, rules, standards and work practices with respect to performing duties.

Education:


  • University degree in Applied Sciences or related field

Certifications:


  • Valid Class G (ON) or Class 5 (QC) driver's license and insurable driving record

Salary range:
$84, $94,458.00
