Description

Responsibilities include:

Sterile processing of umbilical cord blood, peripheral blood, and bone marrow samples from patients including those enrolled in clinical trials.
Performing flow cytometry analysis of clinical samples.
Manage inventory of primary patient samples as well as multiple cell lines.
Perform defined molecular biology and biochemistry experiments in collaboration with lab members.
Present research progress in lab meetings.
Culture various cell lines and maintain lab stocks.
Manage inventory of cell lines.
Assist in administrative tasks.
Maintain updated records electronically for all procedures and tasks.
Assist other staff and trainees in research projects as needed.

Basic Requirements:

BSc in biological sciences combined with experience in cell culture, cellbased and quality control assays
15 years of experience working in a research laboratory
Possess excellent sterile technique and experience in mammalian cell culture.
Experience in basic molecular biology techniques: DNA and RNA extractions, molecular cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage a large number of samples.
Excellent record keeping and ability to use an electronic database.
Time management skills and flexibility with respect to multitasking.
Ability to work both independently and in teams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work part time on weekends on a regular or semiregular basis.

Preferred Qualification:

MSc in biological or biomedical sciences.
Experience in pluripotent stem cell culture.
Experience in CRISPR gene editing.
Experience in digital droplet PCR and/or qPCR.
Experience in quality control.

Contract Details:

This is a 2-year full-time contract with possibility of renewal

Salary:
Min:$21.278/hr - Max:$30.747/hr
