The applicant will take on the responsibility of managing physical functionality and safety of the hotel's facilities and who has a strong guest-oriented mindset.


Summary of Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned Preventative Maintenance Work Orders and Daily Work Orders in a timely manner, as well as perform all assigned work orders on timely fashion
- maintain proper chemicals and levels in the pool & hot tub.

  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to set up Meeting Rooms & break downs as per our Meeting event orders
  • Comply with our brand quality assurance expectations and standards
  • Respond to emergency situations/events and maintenance requests as required
  • Ability to work independently with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a sense of urgency always
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas
  • Maintain complete records of scheduled maintenance procedures and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and or requests to maintain high guest satisfaction
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Front desk team and Hotel Guests to become aware of maintenance needs and assist with the successful completion of maintenance in the Hotel.
  • Performs minor repair and must have a track record with respect to plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, dry walling, minor wall papering and have knowledge about Pool and Spa equipment, mechanical equipment
  • Doing deep cleans on guest Rooms would require shampooing the carpets, cleaning behind furniture daily & assist room attendants with this function, perform preventative maintenance tasks on everyday basis
  • All other duties as assigned

THE ROLE:


Reporting to the housekeeping supervisor, the Maintenance worker is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs for the hotel, ensuring that the rooms and property are maintained in the best possible condition with the least possible inconvenience to guests.


  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance and repair calls in the hotel and guest rooms, providing exceptional service to guests and other hotel team members
  • Check and monitor mechanical systems such as boilers, replacing roof top filters & in the hallways
  • Perform basic maintenance to door lock systems including installation and programming.
  • Maintain entire hotel and surrounding areas in perfect working condition.
  • Perform daily walkaround inspections of hotel, inside and outside, ensuring that no hazards exist. Complete appropriate inspection paperwork.
  • Inspect all public areas to ensure air systems, light bulbs and doors are working properly.
  • Inspect fitness room equipment area and ensure all equipment is operating safely. Report any unsafe equipment.
  • Respond to all fire emergencies and follow the instructions contained in the hotel's fire safety plan.
  • Maintain daily log of work completed.
  • Work with the Housekeeping and Guest Services departments regarding the status of rooms, guest requests, and upkeep and repair issues.
  • Ensure adherence to the hotel's policy regarding security of bedrooms and keys.
  • Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues assisting where necessary to develop team spirit and to achieve standards of work and guest care as required by hotel policy and brand standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, the proper uniform and name tag when working.
  • Project enthusiastic, optimistic, helpful attitude.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by department heads/ managers.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE:

  • Minimum of one year building operators experience in a high-rise building.
  • HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical experience.
  • Hospitality work experience an asset and highly desired.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to exert in excess in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Must work well in stressful, highpressure situations.
  • Ability to work within and meet deadlines with proven ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations.
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanour.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (additional spoken languages an asset).
  • Ability to work outdoors or indoors
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
