The employment opportunity - Lawyer, Real Estate:
- Bilingual fluency in Polish or Spanish is required_
In this role, you will work as part of a team dedicated towards managing real estate files, including but not limited to purchases, sales, mortgage refinances, severances, transmissions, etc.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Vetting incoming client calls and real estate queries.
- Delegating tasks effectively to assistants and clerks.
- Being able to review title searches/parcel pages, determine problems, and find solutions to title issues.
- Reviewing requisitions and response to requisitions carefully and determining the best course forward.
- Managing multiple files at a time.
- Communicating effectively with clients and other parties, giving support and updates as required.
- Reviewing files before client meetings to ensure the accuracy of documents and signing with clients.
- Reviewing instruments in preparation prior to release and registration.
- Reviewing reporting letters.
- Full carriage of files.
REQUIREMENTS:
- JD or LLB from a recognized Canadian law school or equivalent and licensed to practice law in Ontario.
- Knowledge of Cosmolex, Unity, Teraview, Teranet, Microsoft Office, especially Word, Teams and Outlook, and Adobe Reader.
- Minimum three years postcall experience in real estate law.
- Experience in other areas is considered an asset.
- Time management and file management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fastpaced environment and manage multiple files on the go.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to relate to people at all levels. Fluency in Polish and Spanish, while not required, is an asset.
- Ability to provide legal advice and guidance to clients.
- Demonstrated commitment to privacy, ethical conduct, client retention, and client satisfaction.
