Atlas Dewatering Corporation, established in 1946, has well over seventy five years of experience in the construction industry for construction dewatering and environmental groundwater/surface water management.
Summary of Function:
Atlas Dewatering Corporation is seeking a dedicated Estimator with experience in estimating and construction dewatering with an understanding of geology/hydrogeology, and groundwater treatment.
Estimator will be responsible for reviewing scientific reports, construction plans and tender specifications, and then determine appropriate dewatering solutions for diverse projects while ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.
Main responsibilities include working on and completing estimates for tendered and negotiated projects as well as providing estimating support to the Director and Corporate Manager of Dewatering, and Project Managers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Locate and source available dewatering and groundwater treatment requirements for tenders.
- Review project drawings, specifications as well as engineering and environmental reports.
- Compile and execute detailed dewatering quotations/proposals.
- Evaluate and aid in the design of dewatering/filtration/treatment systems.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Maintain and organize project files.
- Perform followups to projects and keep a record of contract awards for market assessment purposes.
- Followup/pursue unawarded bids with clients to make Atlas Dewatering Corporation the successful subcontractor.
- Prepare prequalifications and submittals when required for tenders.
- Visit job sites and contractors' offices when necessary to review their dewatering requirements.
- Maintain estimating database with Atlas' electronic software.
- Provide support to the Estimating, Director and Corporate Manager of Dewatering, Project Managers and Operations teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in earth science and/or construction/engineering.
- Minimum two (2) years' work experience working in a similar role within the construction, dewatering, technical sales, or consulting industry.
- Experience with reading and interpreting scientific reports such as geotechnical/hydrogeological, tender specifications, and construction plans.
- Ability to use costestimating software to prepare cost quotations/proposals is a positive.
- Experience in Project Management framework is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Effective written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work on multiple projects at the same time.
- Work well under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for assigned tasks and tender closings.
- Maintain a professional, positive, working relationship with all employees, executives, clients and engineering consultants, to achieve a cost effective solution for the project.
- Must have an Ontario G Licence in good standing.

$60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
