Reporting to the Assistant Manager or designate, the Maintenance Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks relating to various specialty trades that include, but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical.
In addition to carrying out general maintenance duties on a rotating shift basis within various Nova Scotia Health facilities as directed by site supervisor, the Maintenance Worker will be required to perform building quality assurance rounds, as well as tasks in the areas of construction, installation, inspection of structure, and mechanical and equipment troubleshooting and repair.
The Maintenance Worker will be required to abide by the Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures, and is required to maintain record keeping in relation to maintenance duties including work orders, material requisitions, and inspection forms etc.
About You:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Certificate from a one-year community college technical trade training in one of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, welding, refrigeration, or carpentry
- Travel to other sites may be required.
- Capable and willing to learn new skills and to participate in onthejob training in order to work on specialized equipment
- Knowledge of required tools, equipment, and materials, and ability to use them effectively.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours:
- Long assignment, fulltime position; 75 hours biweekly
- Assignment is approximately 12 months in length
Compensation and Incentives:
$ $24.80 Hourly
