    Senior Electronics Technician


    Department Engineering Reports to Engineering Manager Location Ottawa office and SGL field bases worldwide

    Responsibilities

    • Basic engineering analysis assembly;
    • Conceptual design;
    • Devise and oversee any tests required to demonstrate proof of concept or functionality and generate applicable schematics and reports;
    • Direct the work of technicians and CAD operators to achieve project goals;
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and the department manager providing information in either written form, email, by phone or in person; and
    • Provide timely technical support to field crews as required.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • University degree, college diploma or relevant experience in electronics engineering;
    • Eligible for P.Eng. or OACETT (Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists);
    • Minimum of five years relevant experience;
    • Experience with geophysical survey equipment an asset;
    • Good understanding of power management and analog systems;
    • Demonstrated project management proficiency;
    • Good organizational skills (will be required to direct and oversee the work of technicians, designers and CAD operators);
    • Familiar with CAD principles and techniques for technical drawings and PCB implementation editor;
    • Exceptional communications skills as will be required to liaise with a variety of stakeholders;
    • Excellent report writing skills;
    • Must have a valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport; and
    • Bilingual (English and French) or with another language an asset.
