Position Summary


The Clinical Informatics Specialist is an integral part of the Clinical Informatics & Information Technology team supporting the Regional Kidney Care Program Simcoe Muskoka (RKCP SM) and its partnerships.

This role is responsible for supporting the planning, education, implementation, and evaluation of OSMH Clinical Information Technology (IT).

As the regional centre for the RKCP SM this would also include working with and travelling to all partner sites.

This challenging position seeks an individual who is self-directed, analytical, and organized.

The Clinical Informatics Specialist will work collaboratively with frontline team members of all disciplines, organization-level and regional program leadership, physicians, professional practice, regional stakeholders and external vendor supports.


This role involves working closely with and specializing to support the Regional Kidney Care Program Simcoe Muskoka program (RKCP SM) to ensure high quality, safe and efficient clinical solutions.


The Clinical Informatics Specialist will demonstrate important leadership qualities to encourage fellow team members to make innovative contributions and embrace new ideas in the area of clinical informatics.


Qualifications:


  • Education
  • University Degree in Professional Health Field required
  • A member in good standing with the appropriate regulated healthcare professional college preferred
  • Master's Degree would be an asset
  • Training and/or certification in Adult Education would be an asset

Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years Acute Care setting experience
  • Minimum 2 years Acute Care, Nephrology/Renal experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Clinical Standards of Care for nursing and allied health
