Position Summary


As an integral member of UHN Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy site Operations Leader is responsible for supervising inpatient pharmacy operations.

They will also support the Dual Hospital Pharmacy Operations Manager with all aspects of pharmacy operations of the assigned site.

The Operations Leader will represent pharmacy at various interprofessional committees and contribute to quality improvement activities within the department, while exemplifying UHN's values of caring, excellence, teamwork, innovation, integrity, leadership, and respect.


Duties

  • Implementing pharmacy projects
  • Providing direct and/or functional supervision of staff including human resources management;
  • Maintaining related policies and procedures
  • Providing expertise in pharmacy automation, sterile and nonsterile compounding
  • Leading initiatives that will optimize the safety, quality, delivery and efficiency of the hospital's drug distribution systems

Qualifications

  • Completion of an advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) of Doctor of Pharmacy degree highly preferred
  • Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada required
  • Active registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A) required
  • Pharmacy Residency an asset
  • At minimum over 23 Years practical and related supervisory, management, or leadership experience required
  • Pharmacy practice in a hospital setting with uptodate knowledge of pharmacy operations required
  • Professional Society Membership relevant to Hospital Pharmacy 9E.g. CSHIP) an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to manage with frequent changes
  • Ability to plan and coordinate various assignments and projects
