As a key player, you'll collaborate closely with your Senior Client Manager to ensure seamless workflow and exceptional results.

Leadership Roles and Responsibilities

Support and Mentorship: Your primary responsibility is to assist the Senior Client Manager in project completion while providing guidance and support to team members.

Training and Development: Foster the growth of less experience team members by offering training, keeping them on track with their tasks and jobs, and reviewing their work.

Technical Expertise: Develop the technical skills of your direct reports with all aspects of financial statement preparation, taxation return preparation, bookkeeping and write-ups and payroll processing.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse team including Senior Accountants, Intermediate Accountants, Junior Accountants, Senior Bookkeepers, Intermediate Bookkeepers and Junior Bookkeepers.

Quality Assurance: Ensure tasks are completed to a high standard, aiming for tasks and jobs to be at the 90%-100% completion stage and ready for the Senior Client Manager.

Client Support: While you will not be required to see clients face-to-face, you will occasionally be asked to assist in strategic client meetings, software selection, business mentoring, tax planning and new client onboarding.

In this role you will play an important role in training and assisting other Accountants and Bookkeepers within the team.

Technical Requirements

Expertise: A minimum of 3-5 years post CPA designation with comprehensive knowledge in personal and corporate tax, tax planning, and financial statement preparation for sole proprietors, partnerships, trusts, corporations, charities, not-for-profits.

Software Proficiency: proficient in a range of accounting software including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Zoho, Xero, Sage50, Dext, Caseware, IFirm TaxPrep (or desktop version of TaxPrep), Microsoft Products.

Detailed Technical Knowledge: Capital and non-capital loss rules, business Advisory, payroll legislation, depreciation rules, calculations for sale of property, dividends vs salaries, HST rebates, capital dividends, eligible vs. ineligible dividends, UHT requirements, capital gain exemptions/reserves, ABILs, AMT rules, trust filing requirements including bare trusts, tax minimization strategies.
