Successful applicants will:


  • Have proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrate general understanding of notforprofit accounting standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare payroll, GST and other tax compliance returns
  • Effectively communicate with external and internal parties related to all financial matters

Job Description Summary:


The role of the Financial Administrator is to perform the recording of financial data, posting to and balancing the general ledger in a timely manner.

In addition, must be able to perform the following at a high level:


  • Preparation of reports and financial statements for Principal and Board review
  • Reconcile and maintain cash, receivables, payables, and government funding
  • Prepare, reconcile and process information to Payworks
  • Responsible for entering invoices from suppliers and issuing vendor payments
  • Reconcile POS, cash and cheque receipts and make bank deposits
  • Prepare yearend audit working papers for external auditors
  • Provide support to the Principal related to all financial matters related to the school operations

Experience:


  • A CPA, CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent designation, diploma or degree would be an asset, but is not necessary for this role.


This role is full time during the school year (September - June) with some reduced hours and flexibility in July and August.
