Role:


Inventory Control Manager is responsible for controlling the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Control and Quality Assurance functions, which includes performing Cycle Counts of the warehouse inventory, conducting investigations of out-of-balance items and making corrections to the inventory based upon research, coordinating all special processing of inventory including return to vendor shipments, managing Will Call and performing other related tasks.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Manage the inventory control, driver checkin, Will Call and quality assurance functions effectively and direct associates to identify and resolve variances, and potential variances, to achieve an accurate perpetual inventory count and protect company assets.
  • Maintain, develop, and implement procedures that ensure the highest levels of inventory accuracy are achieved while minimizing the amount of shrink incurred
  • Ensure all shortages with stock on hand are researched to provide explanations as to why and how the shortages occurred, take corrective measures and report to Operations, Merchandizing and Sales
  • Ensure all inventory is cycle counted once every 90 days
  • Review daily balance on hand report to ensure all items are addressed timely and no item stays on this report for more than 3 days
  • Manage the driver checkin function ensuring that all invoice adjustments are accurately made in a timely manner.
  • Review daily inventory reports for possible errors and report information to Finance, Operations, and Merchandizing departments as required
  • Ensure QA associates monitor inbound and outbound product quality
  • Actively participate in Shrink initiatives and identify the root causes for shrink.
  • Participate in the hiring and training of inventory associates.
  • Responsible for performance management and development of inventory associates.
  • Manage the Product Recall process.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco's Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
  • Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco's Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
  • Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with mínimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
  • Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports
  • Enable, champion and embrace an inclusive culture
  • Develop and support high performing talent through hiring, scheduling, performance coaching, and career management practices
  • Facilitate establishment of clear performance goals; Ensure that performance goals adapt to changing business demands; Identify and manage nonperformers in a fair and timely way; Identify and reward top performance; links pay and performance through base, incentive, and recognition programs

  • Communicates broadly and frequently the company's vision, direction, goals, performance against plan, changes, and expectations through participation in department meetings, oneonone meetings, and informal conversations with associates
