Is this the one you've been waiting to see? This is an opportunity to lead the Commercial Energy Marketing group's commodity pricing, renewals & acquisition forecasting, and management reporting for the large commercial market segments.


The Manager, Commercial Structuring is focused on commodity pricing, forecasting, reporting and market analysis tools to provide performance metrics and market intelligence/research to further ENMAX's understanding of retail commercial and industrial markets.

In doing so, this role will manage the development of new pricing structures, oversee sales and support tools to educate sales staff on market conditions and product structures and ensure the processes, procedures, and tools follow Governing documents.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert on retail pricing, methodologies and procedures
  • Lead transaction pricing and analysis for electricity, natural gas and green products and services
  • Oversee modeling, analysis and reporting frameworks to help create customer pricing / offer decisions
  • Direct the development of sales support tools and market outlooks to assist sales staff in customer education on market conditions and product structures
  • Oversee new product and/or service offering development including pricing schemes, potential risks, mitigation options and profitability
  • Manage/maintain systems, procedures and processes related to retail energy pricing, including the development of new pricing tools/systems utilized by the sales team
  • Participate in competitor analysis with respect to products & service offerings related to large commercial and industrial customers
  • Work with sales management and oversee the team modelling the large commercial market sales forecast (known as Deal Ticket)
  • Lead the team responsible for creating, analyzing and reporting on key performance metrics to evaluate commercial and industrial sales and operations such as contract contribution margin, products, lost deal analysis and mitigation strategies
  • Actively manage service delivery strategy to ensure appropriate resource allocation to meet required timelines

Education:


  • University degree (preferably a Masters') in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline from an accredited university

Qualifications:

  • 10 years related industry and technical experience Excellent understanding of mathematical models for quantitative and risk analytics Broad knowledge/experience of power and natural gas markets Knowledge of Alberta commodity markets electricity, natural gas & green products Detailed background knowledge of the Alberta Electricity market and its operations Understanding of commodity market risks Statistical analysis techniques, data science skills, forecasting tools Experience with product structures and pricing techniques Proven project management skills Proficiency with Python, Excel, SQL, VBA and Power BI is an asset Experience with the Azure cloud platform and Data Bricks for analytics is an asset

Location:

This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB).

You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
