Status: Full Time TEMPORARY
Department: Admitting
Site: St. Joseph's Hospital
Shifts: Days/Evenings and weekends
Rate of Pay: $ $27.83 per hour
Reporting to the Manager, Health Records/ Admitting, the successful applicant will provide a variety of clerical and scheduling duties for in-patient admissions and out-patient programs including managing referrals, booking appointments, processing admissions and registering clients. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Admitting/Central Registration staff and closely with clients, and clinicians in a challenging and fast paced environment to ensure that client, clinician and organizational needs are met.
Qualifications:
- One year post secondary office administration program or equivalent combination of education and experience is mandatory
- Recent admissions/ registration and appointment scheduling experience
- Experience working in a computerized office environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Proficiency in computerized registration and bookings software and keyboarding is essential
- Must have working knowledge of medical terminology and spelling expertise
- Accurate keyboarding skills are essential
- Must be client focused
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of client and clinicians on a daily basis
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
