Associated Youth Services of Peel (AYSP) is an accredited, charitable organization, supporting children, youth and families with mental health and/or youth justice issues.

We are currently seeking Counsellors to join our dynamic Parent Adolescent & Child Counselling Program. The PACC Program is a home-based, short-term intervention (4-6 months) for children and youth, ages 6-17, and their parents/caregivers.

PACC-P includes individual counselling for the child/youth, parent/caregiver support and school collaboration, in order to improve the child/youth's problem solving and coping skills, decrease family conflict, and strengthen relationships at home and at school.

Hours of Work: 35 hours a week (Days & Evenings)


Responsibilities:


  • Provide in person, homebased individual and family counselling for children 617 years and their families
  • Complete assessments, devise goals and implement treatment plans for children/youth and their parents/caregivers participating in the program
  • Work collaboratively with school partners, working to improve the homeschool linkage
  • Coordinate and facilitate parent/caregiver workshops
  • Complete client documentation/reports as per agency policies/professional College requirements
  • Participate in biweekly clinical peer supervision and monthly individual supervision
  • Provide referrals to additional and alternative resources, as necessary
  • Work flexible hours related to the treatment needs of the clients, regular evening work is required

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor of Social Work or related undergraduate degree; Master's degree in Social Work is considered an asset
  • Registration within the professional regulating body of either the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario in good standing is required
  • Minimum one to two years experience providing counselling to children/youth and their families
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, child/youth and family engagement strategies, Case Management, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Behaviour modification/parenting interventions and DBT Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multineeds clients, providing familyfocused intervention utilizing a goalfocused, strengthbased approach
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and possess a G class license
  • Fluency in French or other languages is considered an asset

Salary Range:
$47,395 - $56,668 yearly
