    Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Serve as senior counsel for a multinational legal team, focusing on day-to-day contractual needs of the client's Canadian pharmaceutical/medical device/biotech business.
  • Draft and negotiate a diverse range of complex commercial agreements, incorporating novel bioethics concerns into the client's business arrangements in keeping with the rapidly evolving needs of the industry.
  • Collaborate with US in-house counsel and external advisors to ensure compliance with Canadian regulations impacting the research, development, and sale of pharmaceutical products.
  • Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of strong transactional experience, having supported busy commercial teams on a range of transactional matters to drive business while ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of commercial contracts efficiently and effectively, while also providing day-to-day counsel on nuanced legal issues for a business-commercially-minded team.
  • Experience supporting a life sciences or healthcare organization is strongly preferred, although candidates with exceptional commercial transactional skills in other industries will be considered.
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with strong communications skills and ability to work cross functionally.
