Description

Position will be a part of our Estimating and Marketing Department Team to analyse and bid project tenders as well as work as part of the estimating team.


  • Analyzes blueprints/drawings, specifications, proposals, contracts and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
  • Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists for project estimates.
  • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness for projects.
  • Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
  • Consults with engineers, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues for estimate submissions.
  • Read in full contract documents and present risks or advantages that can be accounted for to the operations team prior to tender closing.

Required Experience

  • Building and Construction
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of civil infrastructure, roads, or grading.


  • Design

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.


  • English Language

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Customer and Personal Service
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of Office Suite Software.
  • Knowledge of Bid2Win Estimating Software.
  • 5+ years related experience in the construction industry
  • 5+ years of experience in an Estimator position

Pay:
$60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
