    REGISTERED NURSE

    (TEMPORARY PART TIME)

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Two () temporary part time Registered Nurse opportunities are available at the Louise Marshall Hospital site of North Wellington Health Care.

    These positions will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care as established by the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and according to policies and procedures as set out by NWHC.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence
  • BScN is an asset
  • Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset
  • Current BCLS
  • More OB
  • ACLS or willing to obtain within months
  • Maternal Child Course or relevant clinical experience for exemption
  • NRP
  • Cardiac monitoring skills (ECG application & interpretation, cardiac arrhythmia interpretation) or commitment to obtain within months
  • Competent to start IV or commitment to obtain within months
  • Competent in phlebotomy or commitment to obtain within months
  • Certified for defibrillation or competent in months
  • TNCC recommended
  • ENPC/PALS recommended
  • Must be prepared to work in all areas of the Hospital
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven organizational and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member
  • Ability to assume a leadership/charge role
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
  • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired

    • HOURS OF WORK:

  • As per Department Schedule
  • Must be available to work all shifts and out of weekends as per Collective Agreement

    • SALARY: According to current ONA salary grid.

    This program provides incentives (up to $,) to eligible nurses in exchange for a two-year commitment to Groves Memorial Community Hospital and North Wellington Health Care (Louise Marshall Hospital and Palmerston & District Hospital).

    To be eligible for the CCPN bonus incentive program, a nurse must:

  • Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired;
  • Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Begin employment no later than March , ;
  • Commit to two-years of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer; and
  • Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.
