Job description
We are building a controlled outbound AI voice system for the US market designed to:Contact structured lead lists
Conduct a short, intelligent qualification call
Categorize outcomes with high accuracy
Return structured data back into our internal system
This is not a marketing experiment.
This is a systems engineering project focused on reliability, compliance, and repeatable execution.
Initial rollout:
small controlled batch → then scale to ~1,000 calls per week.
What We're Building
We want a lightweight but production-ready voice automation pipeline that:
Accepts structured lead data (CSV or database input)
Initiates outbound calls via a VoIP API
Runs a focused AI-driven voice interaction
Classifies the result into defined outcome categories
Generates structured outputs + logs for auditability
The emphasis is on clean architecture and operational safety not volume blasting.
Core System Requirements
Data Layer
Input ingestion (CSV to internal processing format)
Phone normalization (US format, +1 E.164)
Duplicate detection
Do-not-call handling
Attempt tracking per record
Call Orchestration
VoIP integration (provider of your choice)
Time-zone aware US calling windows
Call pacing limits
Graceful handling of:
No pickup
Voicemail
Invalid numbers
Call drops
Configurable retry rules (if implemented)
System must prevent double-calling (strict idempotency required).
AI Voice Logic
We are open to VAPI or equivalent voice AI platforms.
The AI agent should:
Ask one primary qualifying question
Handle short, natural conversational responses
Extract structured signals from the call
Produce a short, readable summary (1–2 lines max)
We care about:
Clear disposition classification
Low hallucination risk
Clean event handling via webhooks
Output Requirements
Each run should generate:
Structured output file (CSV or JSON)
Standardized status per lead
Short call summary
Attempt count
Timestamp of last attempt
Optional:
transcript or recording reference
We also require:
Run-level logs
Record-level audit trace
Clear failure reporting
What Matters Most
Clean system design
Compliance awareness (US calling regulations)
Strong logging + traceability
Stable execution over multiple days
Clear separation between calling logic and AI logic
We prefer a modular architecture that can be extended later.
Technical Profile We're Looking For
Experience building outbound voice automation systems
Strong backend experience (Python or )
Comfortable with APIs, webhooks, and event-driven workflows
Familiar with AI voice platforms (VAPI or similar)
Experience designing systems that handle retries, throttling, and state safely
Bonus:
Experience with queue/worker architectures
Experience deploying lightweight services to cloud/VPS
Experience building systems with compliance-sensitive workflows
