Dispatcher

McDougall Energy is looking for a detail orientated and reliable professional to fill the position of Dispatcher/Professional Delivery Driver to join our team in Little Current, Ontario. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this is an integral member of the Operations team responsible for coordinating daily dispatch activities while also safely and efficiently completing assigned deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Supervisor to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance and organizing fleet maintenance as per company policies and regulations
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products to our customers
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and accurately completing related documentation
• Providing exceptional customer service and communication to customers, peers, dispatchers and supervisors
• Utilizing a handheld computer device to monitor the flow of fuel being input and disposed of from the truck and maintain inventory of bulk products on truck
• Assisting with providing support for vacation coverage for drivers
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions to meet our customers' needs
• Performing other duties as required (e.g., organizing / cleaning; warehouse, yard, office, etc.)

About You

• Minimum 2 years driving experience with a valid DZ license
• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Northern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including on-call
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries' practices and processes considered an asset

What We Offer

• Competitive Compensation $50,000 – $70,000
• Paid 4 to 6-week detailed training program including TDG, WHMIS, and CPPI
• Up to $2,000 in Driver Safety Bonuses available, paid quarterly
