Canada's Music Incubator (CMI)


Canada's Music Incubator(CMI) is a Toronto-based national not-for-profit organization specializing in professional development, ongoing mentorship and live events for artists, managers, and music companies.

Launched in 2012, CMI supports 1,300+ emerging music entrepreneurs, across all genres of music in the development of long-term careers and sustainable businesses.

CMI has provided 12,000+ hours of professional development programs and one-on-one mentorship to date.

CMI Live works with private and community partners across the country curating paid performance opportunities for artists CMI has programmed 600+ shows and paid nearly $2 million directly to artists.

CMI also advocates for music sector infrastructure development and creative entrepreneurship education in high schools.

CMI's marketing coordinator is responsible for executing organizational strategies across all social media platforms. They also manage all of the company's social media accounts, create content, track analytics, and engage with followers. The job requires exceptional written and verbal communication combined with a working knowledge of social media platforms and trends.


Responsibilities
Execute large-scale digital marketing projects for programs and events

Support content creation strategies and capture

Implement digital ad campaigns, including researching, writing, editing, proofing ad copy; data capture and analysis; monitoring ad buys and audiences; interpreting and reporting on results

Create engaging social media and website assets

Schedule and post content across all platforms

Write, edit, and proof social copy

Compile and present analytics reports

Conduct audience research for social campaigns and content

Identify and analyze online/social trends

Provide support in marketing asset distribution and reporting for sponsors, partners and funders

Work cross-functionally in support of all company departments

Maintain contact database

Attend internal/external company meetings

Maintain company website while monitoring traffic and SEO

Offer general administrative support for Marketing Manager

Represent CMI at industry, partner, sponsor , and community events

Occasional travel and evening/weekend work is required


Requirements:

Experience in digital marketing and social media management

The ability to use Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and a basic level of graphic design

Knowledge of SEO

Familiarity with analytics tools and content management systems

The ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Excellent project, time management and interpersonal skills

Acute attention to detail

Ability to take initiative, problem solve , and be decisive in a fast-paced office or remote environment, while collaborating with multiple personalities, departments, partners, projects, and deadlines

A demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of work and professionalism

Excellent public speaking, presenting, writing, proof-reading, and editing skills

A passion for all types of music

An entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit

Exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence, complemented by soft skills such as listening, empathy, generosity, integrity, humility, honesty, and work ethic

The ability to take initiative and work independently, remotely and with teams

A willingness to learn , adapt and take on new challenges with a positive attitude

Excellent time management, prioritizing, troubleshooting, and administrative skills

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

A desire to grow and develop within the organization

An understanding of not-for-profit organizations is an asset

A desire to mentor, coach, and be of service to others

Bilingualism is an asset


EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:

Post-secondary education in marketing, media production, or journalism is considered an asset

One-to three years of experience in digital marketing

Music industry experience is an asset
