Job Description:


  • Reporting to the Manager of the R3 Project Engagement and Communications, the Technical Writer is a member of the Algonquin College R3 Project Communications, Change Management and Training Team, supporting the overall communications goals of the R3 Project. The Technical Writer works closely with project team members to understand how College employees and learners will be affected by the changes the project brings and develops written communications designed to inform and support them. The Technical Writer will undertake projects that will provide a foundation for communications activities over the multiple years of the R3 Project.
  • Collaboration with other professionals, such as graphic designers, videographers, and project managers, will be required.


  • Required Qualifications

  • Three (3) year diploma/degree in Business Administration, English, Marketing, Communications or equivalent;
  • Technical Writer Graduate Certificate;
  • Three years of practical experience in a highdemand, clientbased service setting with previous training experience and/or coordination;
  • Three years of experience in developing content that is used to inform large audiences;
  • One year of experience working on a Digital Transformation project;
  • Business Analysis, Lean, AC Way training or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems such as Student, HR, CRM, Finance systems;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in related software including but not limited to SharePoint, WordPress, Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft 365, along with survey and analysis tools, such as SurveyMonkey.
  • This position is paid at Payband G
