OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR


Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the Operations Supervisor will be part of a team of forestry professionals responsible for the coordination of logging, log haul, reclamation, road maintenance, and other operational activities to provide the Blue Ridge Lumber Sawmill with 1.3 million m3 of harvested timber annually.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervision of contractors carrying out annual forestry operations activities.
  • Working collaboratively with contractors and other company staff to ensure that Safety, Environmental Stewardship, production, and log quality targets are met.
  • Communication with stakeholders, government regulators, Indigenous community members, and members of the public regarding current and planned operations.
  • Maintain company GIS records of activities.
  • Possess a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Technologist (RPFT) designation with the AAFMP, or be eligible for registration
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Be a dynamic, careerminded individual
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated with proven organizational skills
