Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Project Manager to coordinate client-related projects and ensure an outstanding customer experience that aligns with Thermo Fisher's values.

In this role, you will support projects of smaller size, scope, and complexity, with a focus on Technical Excellence, Client Experience, Relationship Management, and Business Growth.


Key Responsibilities:


New Business Development:


  • Support the identification of new business opportunities through technical meetings with existing clients in collaboration with the Business Manager and Manager of Technology Transfer Project Management to acquire additional billable items for completion by Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Technology Transfer:


  • Maintain continuous communication with clients, prioritizing their requirements and business needs.
  • Generate key documentation such as the Project Timeline, Action Item lists, and meeting agenda/minutes.
  • Coordinate the documentation repository for easy access and reference.

Project Management:


  • Support the progress of all project activities, including maintaining regular contact with clients, supporting the project team with troubleshooting technical issues, and providing production and Quality Control assistance during project initiation phases.
  • Chair regular meetings and correspondences between internal and client teams for smallersized projects.

Optimization of Production Costs:


  • Provide support to optimize the production process, focusing on technical aspects while adhering to cGMP and company procedures.

Risk Management:


  • Collaborate with Business Management in identifying technical risks related to new job orders, collecting necessary details for evaluation and decisionmaking.
  • Work closely with the Process Engineer to understand project scope and requirements for existing commercial products.

PDS Relationship Management:


  • Collaborate with the Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS) formulator to understand earlystage product development for PDStoCommercial product transfers.

Internal Support and Client Relations:


  • Support the Technical and Production teams during Pre-Validation/Validation/Stability phases, including reviewing process validation documents.
  • Support various company functions as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist existing clients until the production transfer from the client to Thermo Fisher is completed.

GMP and Health & Safety:


  • Follow emergency procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Align with all EH&S requirements and promote safety practices.

Required Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, pharmacy, or business.
  • Working towards Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Engineering, Productions, Quality, or a relevant contract manufacturing environment.
  • Project management and/or client experience is an asset.
  • Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing/operational processes.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliance.
  • Ability to make strong interpersonal connections and ability to meet target dates.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and database management.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to learn new software and open to embracing new technologies.

Standards and Expectations:

Align with all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work harmoniously with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems SOP's and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.

Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.).

Be client and patient conscious at all times.

Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving.
