    Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (PNG), a subsidiary of TriSummit Utilities Inc., owns and operates natural gas processing, transmission and distribution systems in British Columbia's lower Peace, west central, and north coast regions. PNG's western transmission system extends from the Enbridge gas transmission system north of Prince George and along the Highway 16 corridor to Terrace and then onto the port communities of Kitimat and Prince Rupert, providing gas transportation and service to twelve communities and a number of industrial facilities. In the Province's northeast, Pacific Northern Gas (N.E.) Ltd., a subsidiary of PNG, provides gas processing, transmission and distribution service in the Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Tumbler Ridge areas.

    Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, Project Delivery, and NE Operations, this position is located in one of our Northeast, BC offices, and is responsible for the functional leadership and mentorship of Dawson Creek and Fort St John District Superintendents and their teams of Sales and Service, Construction, Maintenance, Measurement, and Gas Plant Operations personnel.

    Salary Range:

    • $124,000 to $146,000 per annum

    Accountabilities And Responsibilities:

    • Implement operations goals and strategies in alignment to PNG's Corporate Goals and Objectives, and ensure assigned departments meet annual goals and objectives.
    • Be an exemplary role model of the Company's Code of Business Ethics culture while cultivating high-performing teams and encouraging teamwork through guidance and mentorship.
    • Create value by developing a unique company culture with increased awareness of Safety, Environmental, and First Nations Stewardship.
    • Maintain, as it pertains to operations, company policies & procedures, standard practice instructions, integrity management plan, and the emergency management plan.
    • Assist in the development of project delivery, asset management and maintenance programs.
    • Develop and oversee regional and departmental budgets.
    • Oversee the operating cost analysis on a regular basis to ensure adherence to budget objectives and recommend corrective actions where necessary when variances occur for monthly update to the Director, Operations.
    • Develop and drive consistent business practices and operations in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, and Tumbler Ridge Districts.
    • Seek and develop new business opportunities and implement business efficiency.
    • Participate in the development and auditing of consistent business wide practices.
    • Supervise & direct District Superintendents for Sales and Service, Construction, Measurement, and Gas Plant Operation employees.
    • Conduct performance and talent reviews as per existing programs.
    • Take a leading role in the recruitment process and selection decisions for internal and external openings within the assigned area.
    • Inform Director, Operations of problems or important matters relative to operations.

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Minimum 10 years in a Natural Gas pipeline transmission and/or distribution environment.
    • Post-secondary courses related to Operations Management or in an industry field related. A degree in Engineering is a definite asset.
    • Secondary education in an industry related field.
    • Project Management Professional certification would also be beneficial.
    • Minimum 10 years supervisory experience.
    • Proven track record of leadership ability.
    • Leadership experience in a unionized environment, an asset.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across multiple departments.
    • Disciplined project management and leadership skills dealing with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to evaluate technical requirements, demonstrate sound judgment and make decisions.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to foster and grow a team.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Familiar with applicable industry codes, rules and regulations, project management processes.
    • Proven problem-solving and conflict management skills.
    • Six Sigma experience would be an asset.

    Other Considerations / Additional Information:

    • The position is based out of Fort St. John or Dawson Creek, BC office with regular and frequent travel throughout PNG's operations and service territories including Vancouver.
